In many cases, lettering can be stripped off of a jersey if done carefully and correctly. The ability to strip a jersey depends on several factors such as when it was originally customized and how it was customized(if adhesive was used in addition to stitching). There is no way of telling if a jersey can be stripped until we actually see and inspect the lettering. Usually, jerseys can be stripped with little or no damage or adhesive residue left on the garment.

When we strip a jersey, each individual stitch is pulled out and the lettering is pulled off. It is not uncommon that the outline of the old numbers can be seen, so when selecting your new custom options please choose wisely. For example, replacing #88 with #11 would be a bad idea, but replacing #88 with #33 would be a good idea. At Perch Hockey, your jersey will be washed to remove any left over residue from adhesives before it is re-customized. The estimated return time for stripping and re-customization is 3 weeks from the date we receive the jersey.

If your jersey cannot be stripped (numbers won't come off), there will be no fees charged. Perch Hockey will never damage your jersey and will take full responsibility for any damages that occur during the stripping process. Please note, damages DO NOT include adhesive residue left over from previous lettering OR stitching outlines left over from previous customization. We will never strip a jersey to the point where damages occur, if the lettering is too hard to remove, we will stop and return the jersey rather than pull harder and possibly rip the garment.
